Today, there are three authentically natural herbal alternatives to chemical peels and other resurfacing techniques available at our office in Whitby, Ontario, courtesy of this unique system.
What is the Green Peel®?
The Green Peel® is not one thing but three different treatments. These treatments include the “Classic” version for skin rejuvenation and renewal with a peeling effect, as well as the “Energy” and “Fresh Up” formulations. The latter options do not have a peeling effect. They are characterized as vitality-boosting and refreshing options, respectively.
What peel is right for me?
The Classic peel may be appropriate to treat sun-damaged skin, wrinkles, laxity, big pores, some types of dark discoloration, scars and stretch marks, and other impurities on both the face and parts of the body (such as the upper arms and thighs). The Energy option is best for hyperpigmentation/dark spots, as well as for impurities, cellulite and stretch marks, and keratosis pilaris (plugged hair follicles or “chicken skin”). The “Fresh” version makes tired, pale, dull skin look brighter and more radiant. It is well-suited to those just starting to notice signs of aging and damage.
How will these peels improve my skin?
The Classic peeling service works by removing the outermost layer of epidermis. Described as an “herbal massage,” Green Peel® Classic also stimulates blood flow, oxygenation, and metabolism to boost regenerative processes. These processes speed up cell turnover from around 28 days to five days. As new, fresh skin appears, you will notice improvements in the signs of aging and UV damage mentioned above.
Green Peel® Energy also boosts circulation and cellular metabolism to naturally improve skin texture without the peeling effect associated with the Classic treatment. Green Peel® Fresh Up is the most gentle of the three peels. It encourages healthy blood circulation to open up the pores and support better absorption of beneficial ingredients in the skincare products we may apply and recommend. In turn, these products can work better and “as designed.”
What does treatment feel like?
Generally, these peels combine herbal solutions with massage techniques, so they are natural and tolerated well by most people. You may feel slight pressure as the area is massaged, but otherwise, this process has no discomfort. The sensation of pressure is stronger with the more powerful Classic peel, as it involves the strongest and longest massage techniques when compared to “softer,” gentler treatments like Energy and Fresh Up. No chemicals or abrasive particles are involved with this genuinely herbal and natural service.
What can I expect afterward?
As noted, Green Peel® Energy and Fresh Up do not involve peeling. With Green Peel® Classic, there may be some peeling starting at day No. 3. The peeling should subside (for the most part) within two days. So, downtime is minimal even for the Classic peeling option, especially compared to traditional peels, which support dramatic improvements to stubborn conditions like scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles. In fact, this system is so safe that it can be used on almost any skin type. With all peels, the herbs initiate the skin’s renewal and regeneration process.
