High-frequency treatment accelerates the health and beauty of your skin
At The Facial House, medical aesthetician Ama Sandhar and our team offer 13 different facial services. These services can further be customized to your unique needs and to elevate your results with powerful add-ons, such as high-frequency treatment.
What is high-frequency treatment?
When in the hands of our skilled professionals in Whitby, Ontario, this aesthetic process provides a safe and noninvasive approach to improving the health of your skin. It involves using low-level electrical currents to boost circulation, warm the skin, and convert oxygen into ozone—processes that dramatically improve both the look and feel of the skin.
Is it safe for all skin types?
Yes! It is an appropriate treatment for individuals with sensitive skin and melanin-rich skin. These skin types can sometimes be precluded from other, more aggressive aesthetic procedures such as lasers and deeper chemical peels or resurfacing techniques. High-frequency “facials” are a “universally appropriate” treatment because they are mildly stimulating. Due to this characteristic, we also minimize the risk of adverse side effects, reactions, and complications, as well as healing and recovery.

What does high-frequency treat?
This oxygenating technology works wonders on:
- Acne by reducing the p. acnes bacteria responsible for breakouts; also prevents the formation of cysts
- Dry and dull skin can be improved by improving desquamation, or the process whereby the outermost layer of skin, or epidermis, is shed
- Blackheads and whiteheads by softening them for easy extraction
- Laxity and poorly defined areas by supporting lymphatic movement to firm and contour the face
- Softens fine lines, wrinkles, and visible pores by improving the health of the skin at the cellular level

How do you perform high-frequency treatment?
At The Facial House, high-frequency may be part of our acne facial. This facial combines Dermalogica’s acne line with high-frequency technology to protect the skin and optimize healing. It may also be incorporated into other facials as an “add-on” treatment (a perfect complement for appointments that are 40 minutes or longer). Treatment itself is well-tolerated, with some describing a tingling sensation as the current passes through the skin. The high-frequency is delivered to cleansed skin via a special machine. We focus on problem areas, typically treating each spot in three to five minutes. Afterward, we apply a soothing moisturizer.
What can I expect after treatment?
The treated areas may look red or flushed, and your skin may be more sensitive to the sun and UV damage. So, it is all the more important to apply and reapply sunscreen and to protect your skin from UV radiation from the sun and tanning. We can also advise on other ways to care for your skin as it heals to ensure maximum benefits from this process and any other complementary treatments that may be completed during your appointment.
